Seems like posing shirtless with a fan and revealing his well toned body was just a teaser. Justin Bieber found himself on the commentator’s seat and was heard commentating on 710 ESPN’s radio broadcast of Tuesday night’s game between the San Antonio Spurs and LA Lakers.
The 18 year old joined two times NBA champion Mychal Thompson and play-by-play man John Ireland during the second quarter. The Spurs were victorious by defeating the over confident Lakers 112-91.
Who says that Internet jokes don’t have a long shelf life? We heard Justin Bieber saying ‘Boom Goes the Dynamite, as Pau Gasol successfully scored of a jump shot. The joke was way back in 2005 when Justin was 21 days away from his 11th birthday.
‘Boom Goes the Dynamite’ is a popular catchphrase derived from a college sportscast hosted by Brian Collin, a freshman journalism student at Ball State University who made his on-air debut in 2005. But only a few minutes into his segment, Brian began losing track of the script as the lines were rolling faster than his reading pace. One of the more memorable quotes can be heard during his play-by-play commentary of an Indiana Pacers vs. New Jersey Nets game:
“Later he gets the rebound. Passes to the man. He shoots. And boom goes the dynamite.”
Commenting on Bieber’s performance behind the mic, Mychal Thompson said the singer did “smashing, baby” and “niiiice, like ‘Borat,’ remember?”
We thus saw Justin taking a break from the ‘Kiss Cam canoodling’ with girlfriend Selena Gomez and grabbin’ some ‘chos.
